Help for the Workbench page — what a Workbench is, how to start one, review its proposals and apply it.
brief
Each Workbench is a package of features being refactored or hashed out: one big diff, entangled with a Focus; nothing is live before *apply*. Start one from the Feature Map.

Workbench

A Workbench is one big diff of the spec that you and your designer build together before anything goes live.

  • Start one from the Feature Map: pick features by name, or a Crosscut word, and press Start. Your designer gathers its working copy, its Focus and its first proposals.
  • Its Focus is in the title: Workbench | . A bench with no Focus shows Focus (+), which makes one.
  • Review its lines and proposals: Accept, Change or Reject each one. Every proposal says what you get either way.
  • Apply moves what you accepted into the live spec and files the tickets the code needs. Nothing changes before apply.
