Join a project in AI Putty: press Join or Request to join, or wait for an invitation; visitors see a Members only box with Log in and Sign up.
brief
The Join page lets a signed-in person into a project, or asks an admin to let them in. Projects by invitation have no button: an admin adds you.

Join a project, or ask to join✎ edit

Join is how you get into a project you aren't a member of yet. What you see depends on who you are and how the project lets people in.

You're logged in, but not a member✎ edit

The page shows the project's name and one of three things:

  • Join: the project is open. Press it and you're in; AI Putty takes you on into the project.
  • Request to join: an admin decides. Press it, and the page says your request is waiting for an admin. You'll get a notice on My projects when they answer.
  • By invitation: there is no button. Only people an admin adds can get in.

If you already asked, your request is still waiting. The page can't tell yet whether you asked before.

If something goes wrong, the reason shows in red above the box.

You're not logged in✎ edit

You see Members only: This page is for members of …

  • Log in brings you back to this page afterwards.
  • Sign up makes an account. It isn't shown when the project is by invitation.

Opened the link inside an app? Open it in your browser, where you're logged in.

You're already a member✎ edit

Join sends you on to the project's home.

No such project✎ edit

If the project doesn't exist, the page says so, with a link to create it from your home on aiputty.com.

Examples✎ edit

  • "A friend sent me their project link. How do I get in?" Log in, open /join on that project, and press Join or Request to join.
  • "I pressed Request to join. Now what?" Wait for an admin. The answer comes as a notice on My projects.
  • "There's no button. Why?" The project is by invitation. Ask an admin to add you.

Good to know✎ edit

  • Admins choose how people join, and invite people, on the project's settings. See Projects.
