Files

Your project's Files keep images, PDFs, mockups and other files your pages and documents use. Open them from the Toolbox (Files) or at /cdn on your project.

Adding and linking

  • Upload on the Files page, or let your AI do it. Each file gets a link you can paste into any page: /cdn/<folder>/<name>.
  • Who sees a file: public (anyone with the link) or members (only your project's members; d2 hands out short-lived links for them). A private project's files start as members-only.
  • Safe types only: images (png, jpg, gif, webp), PDFs and plain text (md, csv, json, txt…). Web pages, SVG and scripts are refused.
  • Change a file and every page shows the new one, without you editing any link.

The folders d2 gives you

You'll see a few folders you didn't make. Each says what it is, right after its name:

  • designer/, coder/, maker/…: files your AI agents made, one folder per role. Agents only put files there unless you ask them to put one somewhere else.
  • …/design/ and …/kit/: kept. Mockups and pieces your documents link to.
  • …/mockups/: work in progress. May be cleaned up.
  • …/tmp/: scratch. May be cleaned up.
  • Everything else is yours: make any folders you like (images/, docs/…).

Cleaning up

Mockups and scratch files pile up. A project admin can press Clean up on the Files page. d2 looks through your pages, drafts, apps, data and pipeline for links to each file in the mockups/ and tmp/ folders, and shows two lists:

  • Still used: each file with where it's linked. Send to designer for cleanup asks your designer to move the ones worth keeping and drop the rest. Nothing is deleted.
  • Good to delete: nothing links to them. Delete now asks once, then deletes them and shows the space freed.

A file that's still linked anywhere is never deleted by Clean up, even if a link appeared after you looked.

Limits

Up to 5 MB a file. Your plan sets how much space a project has; the Files page shows what's used.
