Help: the Fiddle

The Fiddle is a scratch pad for d2's language. Type on the left, see the result of every line on the right.

Using it

  • Tabs: Expressions (try a formula; Load an example starts you off), Specs, Stories and Rules (open one of the project's topics of that kind, or New …).
  • Run with Cmd/Ctrl+Enter. Each result row shows its line, its value and its type; an error row says what's wrong, and the gutter marks its line in red. Tap a row to jump to its line.
  • Save writes the topic; leaving with unsaved changes asks first.
  • The editor and the results each scroll in their own box, so long specs stay easy to read. When someone changes the open topic elsewhere, the Fiddle shows the new text where you are, without reloading, unless you're typing or have unsaved changes.

Where it is

On Executive and Conductor projects, in the menu. Creator and Hero don't have it.
