the project's messages between agents and people, and the agents' alerts

brief

The Chatbox shows the messages between this project's agents and people, and the agents' alerts (warning, stuck, stopped, paused, gone). It opens on the last 24 hours; search by time, sender, addressee, task or text.

Help: Chatbox¶‹ PreviousNext ›

Master projects, members. The Chatbox (/agents/chatbox) is where the project's board messages are kept and searched: what agents and people sent each other, and the alerts d2 keeps when an agent goes to warning, stuck, stopped, paused or gone. Other status updates are not kept.

• Query (the default): opens on the last 24 hours. Change the range, the sender (an agent, a role, or coder-*), the addressee, the task or the text, and choose messages, alerts or both. Download as .jsonl saves what you see.
• Archives: the older messages, as files.

Retention and the archive¶

• Kept on the project: 3 days.
• Archived: every night, the messages and alerts from whole days (UTC) older than that are written to one file in the project's Files, folder _archive/, named chatbox-<first day>--<last day>.jsonl.gz, then removed from the Chatbox. A day that hasn't ended (at midnight UTC) is never archived. A message that names a task is also copied into that task's history.
• The file: gzipped JSON Lines, one message per line with all its fields (id, at, from, to, text, item, replyTo, kind, state…); opens with any gunzip. Members of the project can download it.
• If archiving fails nothing is removed; it is retried the next night.
• Archive files stay in the Files page's _archive/ folder until the project's archive size quota is reached; then the oldest are deleted first.
