- description
- History in AI Putty searches your project's whole record of decisions, changes, AI work, pipeline steps and runs, with the archived files for older days.
- brief
- History is one Query screen over every log: filter by type, dates, task, person, agent, feature and layer. Archive lists the nightly archive files by kind, to download.
Search your project's history and archive¶✎ edit
History is one Query screen over everything your project records: decisions, changes, AI work, pipeline steps and runs. Archive holds the older records, moved out of the project each night into files you can download.
History is for the project's members. Some project levels keep their log at the bottom of the Spec instead; History then says so, with a link to change the level.
Query the history¶✎ edit
Fill in any of the filters, then press Search. Clear empties them.
- Search: words in the entries. The list updates as you type.
- Type: Decisions, Changes, AI, Pipeline, Runs. Tick one or more.
- From and To: a date range.
- Task: a pipeline item, like P-12.
- Person and Agent: who did it. An agent can be a name or a role.
- Feature, and Layer: spec, design, build, skill, or Any.
The results start with a count line, then a heading per day, newest first, one line per entry: the time, the type, the layer and the feature, the text, the task with a link to its history, and who did it. Dates are UTC. Tap a feature to filter by it. More loads the next entries.
A query is part of the page address, so you can bookmark it or send it to someone.
Opened from one log (Project changes, AI changes, Pipeline history), the screen has two tabs: Last week and Query, already set to that log's types.
Runs¶✎ edit
Tick only Runs to see the agents' runs as a table: Time, Agent, Runner, Tasks and Steps (minutes). Above it, a summary gives the number of runs and the median minutes per step, split into fixed time and time per task, and per runner when there are several.
Older than 7 days¶✎ edit
The project keeps 7 days of history. When your date range reaches further back, the results end with Older than 7 days, in the archive: and the archive files that cover it, each one a download.
The archive¶✎ edit
Each night AI Putty moves the project's old records out of its live data into compressed files, one per day range, in the _archive/ folder of your Files. Hero and Creator projects remove old records instead of archiving them.
The Archive page shows:
- Tiles: how many files, their size in all, how many kinds, and the oldest and latest day.
- A tab per kind, with its number of files: chatbox (agents' board messages and alerts), history (history changes and decisions), pipeline (closed pipeline items), chats (ended chats), audit (audit records), board (agents' statuses), runs (agents' runs and starts).
- Each kind's overview line: files, size, first and last day, number of days, and when the last one was made. Tap it to fold the list away.
- A table of files: From, To, Size, Made, and the File to download.
AI Putty no longer uses these files. To read one, download it: it is gzipped JSON Lines, one record per line, and opens with any gunzip.
Worked examples¶✎ edit
- "What did the coder agent do on P-40?" Tick AI, put P-40 in Task and coder in Agent, then Search.
- "Which decisions about the billing feature were made in the spec?" Tick Decisions, put billing in Feature, set Layer to spec.
- "How long do builds take?" Tick only Runs. The summary gives the median minutes for each step.
- "What happened two months ago?" Set From and To to those days. The results end with the archive files for them; download one.
Good to know¶✎ edit
- Where are a topic's own entries? On its Change log tab.
- Nothing in the Archive yet? The nightly run writes there once records pass their keep window.
